New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday arrested two more persons, including a candidate from Patna, Bihar, in connection with the alleged leaking of NEET-UG entrance exam certificates.

According to news reports, NEET-UG candidate Sunny from Nalanda and Ranjit Kumar’s father, who hails from Gaya, are among the latest arrests.

So far, the CBI has arrested eight persons in the NEET-UG paper leak case in Bihar, one for alleged rigging in Latur and Godhra, Gujarat, and one in Dehradun for a wider conspiracy. Officials said the total number of arrests in the case has now reached 11.

Further, the CBI on Monday arrested a man from Latur, Maharashtra, in connection with the NEET paper leak case. He was identified as Nanjune Dhppa and allegedly claimed that he could boost the marks of students for money.

Earlier on Monday, the Supreme Court had accepted the settlement of the NEET-UG exam that was conducted on May 5 due to a paper leak. It had asked the National Testing Agency (NTA) to submit a report on the steps taken to identify the candidates who benefited from the paper leak.
