Mavin’s in-house producer stated that despite being the son of legendary musician Sir Victor Uwaifo, he did not have an easy ride to the top.

Grammy nominated Nigerian record producer, Andrew Vibez has spoken about his journey in music and revealed that during his days as a struggling producer, he charged just $500 in production fees.

Mavin’s in-house producer stated that despite being the son of legendary musician Sir Victor Uwaifo, he did not have an easy ride to the top.

Vibez, featured in the third episode of the ‘Made By Us’ docuseries, said: “When I started music; producing for people, I started charging N500.

“I had my expectations when I started. My dad is not the kind of person to hold your hand and say, this is who you need to know. In fact, he never introduced me to anyone.”

The producer said he got a breakthrough in his career after meeting Don Jazzy, who later signed him to Mavin Records.

Andre Vibez is the producer behind some global Afrobeats hits such as ‘Calm Down’ by Rema and Selena Gomez, ‘Rush’ by Ayra Starr and others.

He earned a Grammy nomination for producing Ayra Starr’s “Rush,” which was nominated for Best African Music Performance at the 2024 Grammys.
